Timber-frame self-building and technical elements

How do the different technical elements fit into a Gablok building?

Wood frame construction and self-build techniques

You've decided to take the plunge and build your timber frame home yourself

If the Gablok insulated wood blocks fit together to form the load-bearing walls of the home's structure, a few more technical questions may come to your mind.

Among these, the one of the electrical installation, the alarm or even the sanitary casing in your wood frame self-construction.

Don't worry, Gablok has seen it all.

No drilling into the insulated blocks is necessary. Technical installations pass directly through the pre-designed ducts between the joists that hold the insulated blocks. These ducts, 5 cm thick and spaced approximately 40 cm apart, provide ample space to easily insert the various technical connections required for your daily needs.

For transitions between levels, the technical installations pass through the OSB floor to connect with the duct on the upper floor. On the ground floor, they are placed above the concrete slab, then covered with a layer of insulation and a screed. Electrical cables and ventilation ducts can also be integrated between the floor joists, where they remain concealed by a false ceiling.

With the Gablok system, there's no need to groove or drill into your walls, as is often required in traditional construction. The result: faster, cleaner, and more efficient work.

Once the connections are completed, you simply close the technical ducts using finishing panels, such as Gyproc boards.

With Gablok, everything has been designed to simplify your self-build process, from insulation to the installation of technical networks, ensuring you a functional, durable, and perfectly insulated home.

Structural plans known in advance to facilitate the implementation of special techniques

Self-building with Gablok insulated wood blocks is quick.

The Gablok insulated wood blocks can be used for a variety of purposes.

In fact, your architect's plans are tailored based on our construction method.

Thus, you have a plan to assemble your insulated wood blocks and build the structure of your house, in the best way.

Grâce to the plan, you know à in advance the dimensions of all the parts of the structure of your self-build. This allows you to contact the various tradesmen who will handle the upstream techniques and finishes.

This saves you time and allows you to choose, without hassle, your châssis and other electrical systems ahead of time so that everything flows smoothly.

In practice, a Gablok self-construction is composed of insulated wood blocks of 3 different lengths : 30 cm, 60 cm and 90 cm.
