Energy performance, thermal insulation, EPB and Gablok insulated wood blocks
Energy performance of insulating blocks: your wood frame is adapted to Q-Zen objectives
The PEB is studied on a case-by-case basis, depending on each construction site. The notion of energy performance of buildings (PEB) is calculated according to a number of critères précis whose value differs depending on the type of dwelling. These criteria correspond to thecharacteristics that define the dwelling.
For example: the different types of insulation (roof, exterior walls, interior walls,…) used, the type of châssis and the window area, the orientation of the house or the heating system établit.
In Gablok self-construction, as for any other construction for that matter, it is impossible to give a precise value of the PEB, without knowing the other data (heating system, ventilation system, degree of insulation of the rooms,…).
We can nevertheless tell you that the thermal conductivity (U-value) of a wall built with Gablok is U=0.15 w/m²k. Our insulated wood blocks areprepared for the PEB values required by Q-Zen construction.
Today, the thermal conductivity required by the EPB for a wall is U=0.24w/m²k.
The thermal conductivity of a passive house wall is, as for it, U=0.10w/m²k.
Note that it is always possible to increase the insulating value of our Gablok walls by applying additional exterior insulation, if desired.
Gablok wood blocks: effectively insulated blocks
.Our wood blocks are designed from an assembly of two materials to insulate the building.
The insulating blocks are actually composed of a fusion between OSB wood and EPS insulation, polystyrene foam.
Thus, these blocks have super-insulating power.
