Insulated wooden block: energy performance, PEB

Energy performance, thermal insulation, PEB and Gablok insulated wood blocks

Your timber frame is Q-Zen-compliant

The PEB is studied on a case-by-case basis, according to each building site. The notion of energy performance of buildings (EPB) is calculated according to a number of precise criteria, the value of which differs according to the type of dwelling. These criteria correspond to the characteristics that define the dwelling.

These include the different types of insulation (roofing, external walls, internal walls, etc.) used, the type of chasssis and window surface, theorientation of the house or the heating system used.

In Gablok self-build, as in any other construction, it's impossible to give a precise PEB value without knowing the other data (heating system, ventilation system, degree of frame insulation, etc.).

However, we can tell you that the thermal conductivity ("U" value) of a wall built with Gablok is U=0.15 w/m²k. Our insulated wooden blocks are ready for the PEB values required by Q-Zen constructions.

Today, the thermal conductivity required by the PEB for a wall is U=0.24w/m²k.

The thermal conductivity of a passive house wall is U=0.10w/m²k.

It's always possible toincrease the insulating value of our Gablok walls by applying additional external insulation, if desired.

Gablok wood blocks: efficiently insulated blocks

Our wood blocks are made from a combination of two insulating materials.

The insulating blocks are in fact a fusion of OSB wood and EPS insulation, expanded polystyrene.

These blocks therefore have super-insulating power.
